A Netflix documentary earlier this year about the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders had fans wondering if the work is worth the payoff.

“America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders” gave an inside look at what it takes to be an NFL cheerleader, from tryouts to playoffs.

The 36 women on the team spend hours rehearsing, volunteering around Dallas, and performing at games.

It was even revealed that Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders put in as much as 11-hour days on game days.

The Netflix documentary also stated how many of the women also work full-time jobs, on top of being Cowboys cheerleaders.

In 2022, NBC Sports Boston reported that NFL cheerleaders make, on average, about $150 per game.

That comes out to about $22,500 per year.

The cheerleaders also make about $50 to $75 for public appearances at the time.

NBC Sports Boston further added that the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders in 2022 were making about $15-20 per hour, and with game and public appearance fees, their yearly income totaled about $75,000.
